My Go-To Nude Lip Products

My Go-To Nude Lip Products

I’ve never been one to sport much color on my pout. I feel most comfortable in light, glossy nude colors, likely because I prefer to highlight my eyes over any other facial feature. You’ll often see me pair a darker eye with a nude lip. This has been my go-to for years, and I think it’s the most flattering combination for anyone with blonde hair and light eyes.

I’ve traversed of Sephora, Ulta, and even Target swatching nude lip colors, but I tend to go back to a handful of favorites. Since I get asked about my lip color often on Instagram Stories, here’s a roundup of everything you need for the perfect nude lip.

Swatched (left to right): Tarte Hella, MAC Creme d’Nude, Maybelline Nude Lust

Conditioner

It’s difficult for any color to look good if your lips are dry. I keep at least one of these products in my vanity drawer, purse, gym bag, and car at all times.

My favorite: Caudalie’s Lip Conditioner

Close second: C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve

Lip Liner

Without liner, nude lips can disappear into your face. I lightly draw on areas where you’d like them to look more full (cupid’s bow and the bottom). I love NYX Lip Liners and they’re only $4!

My favorite: NYX Taupe (discontinued but available here)

Close second: NYX Natural

Long-wearing: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk

Nude Lipstick

Carrie Underwood’s performance look has always been my inspiration for a smoky eye and nude lip. Naturally, I stalked her makeup artist to find out her products. That’s how I discovered MAC Creme d’Nude. It is the prettiest, creamiest nude out there and has a shiny finish.

My favorite: MAC Creme d’Nude

Drugstore option: Maybelline Nude Lust

Others I love: MAC Myth, Fleshpot, & Velvet Teddy

Nude Lip Gloss

I would say that I prefer gloss over lipstick 75% off the time because I like a sheen.

My favorite: Tarte’s Lip Paint in Hella

Close second: Lorac Alter Ego in Southern Belle

Highlighter

The trick to make the lips pop is to place highlighter along my cupid’s bow. I’ll use my middle finger and tap it along that area. This is like the icing on the cake!

My favorite: Lancome Dual Finish in Luminous Gold.

Purse-friendly: RMS Living Luminizer
